Discover the Power of Deep Brain Reorienting
As stated by Dr. Frank Corrigan, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)® is a trauma psychotherapy. DBR aims to access and process traumatic experiences by tracking the original sequence of physiological responses that occurred when the deep brain had been alerted to a threat or an attachment disruption.
A primary goal of DBR is to access the core of the traumatic experience in a way which tracks the original physiological sequence in the brainstem (the part of the brain which is rapidly online in situations of danger or attachment disruption). The idea is that there may be threat and attachment wounding together when, for example, an experience of abandonment in infancy activates age-appropriate fears for survival. DBR helps individuals access these traumatic events and work through them in a safe, supportive space.

What's behind Trauma-Informed Stabilisation (TIST)?
Janina Fisher’s Trauma-Informed Stabilization Model (TIST) is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals with complex trauma by focusing on stabilization and safety before delving into trauma processing. It emphasizes building a strong therapeutic relationship, enhancing emotional regulation, and developing coping skills to manage dissociative symptoms and internal conflicts. The model helps clients understand their trauma responses and fosters a sense of safety and control over their emotions and behaviors. By prioritizing stabilization, TIST aims to create a foundation for deeper trauma work and long-term healing.
Somatic Experiencing Therapy: Whole Body Therapy
Somatic Experiencing Therapy is a body-focused approach to healing trauma that helps individuals release stored stress and tension from their bodies. Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, this therapy works by gently guiding clients to increase awareness of their bodily sensations and process traumatic memories without becoming overwhelmed. By focusing on the body’s natural ability to heal, Somatic Experiencing helps regulate the nervous system and restore a sense of safety and balance. This approach aims to reduce symptoms of trauma, such as anxiety and hypervigilance, by allowing the body to complete its natural response to stress and build resilience. Through this process, clients can feel more grounded, calm, and connected to themselves.
